You should have known when you made this thread you were gonna tick a lotta people off...

Most anyone who likes guild wars is going to buy factions, I am buying it and i'm PvE only.

I don't see what your point is of 'not supporting anet' is...or saying that exsisting customers are getting screwed. Anet is nice enough to give us a awesome game for no monthly fee, and i have a feeling that this thread is in fact about the character slots...I dunno about everyone else but im getting REALLY FREAKING SICK OF HEARING ABOUT THAT! If you want 8 slots then don't merge accounts and just shut up about it.

Im done

nearly any game is a feeless game.

Battle for Middle Earth2, oblivion, Gothic3, Battlefield, God of War, Neverwinter Nights2, Need for speed most wanted, Dungeon siege 2, Blazing Angels, The Godfather, etc...

now if you had stated instead of Game, MMORPG, then I might have considered it as valid although even then there are multiple of free MMORPGs like knightonline, calonline, etc...

so please get off the gratitude horse and look at it as not a act from the goodness of their heart, but an act out of being the first to try and capture people that would otherwise not play these type of games due to certain reasons. And breed customer satisfaction with people that aren't used to these kind of games.

Well think I will buy the CE just out of spite, since I’ve already paid in full for the pre-order.

Hmm, I have a dilemma. I pre-ordered at EB Games, and for weeks waited for them to deliver. Finally, after reading some horror storie here, I went and bought the pre-order Factions at Best Buy.

Today, of course, EB Games calls me, saying they have my pre-ordered version

So, now I have to call EB Games and tell them I don't want it... or buy two versions of Factions!

It's weird, I actually feel guilty about buying it at Best Buy, and I don't know why... a week ago I hated EB Games, now I feel sorry for them!

Well I think that those horror stories differ from area to area and not the general EBgames stores population. I was fine with BestBuy and Futureshop when Prophecies was released; perfectly on time and knowledgeable. But now, they still have no clue at this point in time, so I have switched to EBgames. again there is no guarantee, bcuz of ppl's horror stories.

o yeah. ask about their release dates. some EBs seems to be claiming a May release....that would hurt.

At least have a valid reason other than "just because".

I am gonna buy it AND merge accounts BUT I am not preordering and NOT getting the CE. The CE isn't worth the extra $10(not enough incentive to me) and I'm not in a rush....

Mordakai, I suggest you just get the one from Best Buy. I mean, the EB folks are PAID to give you what you want I.E customer service. I don't really think the manager would consider it "customer service" if the folks at the store badmouth you for ordering it.
Besides, I hardly doubt they cry themselves to sleep over one single customer who accidently got stuck with 2 copies of the same game.

Of course, there's another option... get both. But since I'm not planning on ordering two copies of Factions, I feel that would be unethical... even though I could probably make money selling a sealed pre-order box to someone, that would definately be unethical.

I think I'll just call EB Games, apologize, and let them know they can sell that box to someone else now.

I'm not going to buy it, and I'd like to point out that you must have very little self-respect to submit yourself to the torture of reading all those horrible threads every day. I'm glad I'm not going to share a game with the irrational little brat that you appear to be anymore.

There's no histrionics in any of my posts, dear. You'll find that in rollntider's ones in this thread. And he's not even leaving, go figure. I'm really quite serious when I mention that I think he appears to be an irrational little brat.

Actually you are the one with a problem, you continually post on a forum of a game you said you do not want to play anymore. Why are you here? you have so little life that you want to get in a flame war on a message board for a game you dont even want to purchase?

#1 I come to this forum to find out about factions. I for one am excited of the new content, I am not 100% satisfied that everything that i would like is not being in the game. You are the one that appears to be irrational, you for 1 are posting in a forum of a game you do not want to purchase, and since you dont have a valid or yet meaninful reason for continuing staying in a forum that discusses the game resort to name calling.

#2 for the most part most people on here post really interesting things about factions (the forum in which we are in), than to talk about elderscrolls on a factions forum. Yours posts so far are the only ones I find that are less than appealling. So your assumption is incorrect. Since you are looking forward to Elder scrolls 4, i bet you can find some good self respect talking elder scrolls on an elder scrolls forum.

#3 I am not even leaving GW because I never said i was, go figure I think that since i am a fan of GW i would be expected to hang around GW forums. Or does it not work like that? Should I hang out on a Halo forum talking about factions? That makes about as much sence as talking about elderscrolls on a factions forum.

#4 I must appear to be an irrational little brat. Lets see

Gli: not happy with GW:F takes toys and goes home, in a factions forum talking about how they long for elderscrolls
Rollntider: ok with GW:F ready to stay and play, tells those that are asshurt and leaving, dont let the door knob hit ya on the way out.

Whos the brat?

I'm going to leave this open because it's turned into a constructive thread. For those of you just getting here, Mr. Daggerfall is an Elder Scrolls fanboy who is here to bash A.Net and Guild Wars while encouraging people to buy and play Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

If we're going to be playing a game of taking cheap shots, though, I'll give a couple dingers:

Morrowind.

Bethesda Softworks.

Peace,

#0 Posting on this forum while I'm bored at work has become a habit I'll be breaking soon enough. And for the record, I do enjoy playing GW, I just don't want to continue on with something that appears to be a dead end street.

#1 I'm not the one who wrote an irrational post blaming all the bad things in the game on the people who are leaving, like you did. Write something irrational, and you'll appear irrational. Make it irrational enough and it'll devolve into something that appears to have been written by a child. Make it nasty and petty enough and the child will become a brat. That's not me calling you names, that's how you made yourself appear and I just took notice.

#2 I haven't mentioned Elder Scrolls once. Get your facts straight. I don't know anything about it except for some brief mention here on this forum. Maybe I'll check it out though, thanks for reminding me.

#3 I didn't say you were or should be leaving. In fact I said just the opposite. You needn't elaborate.

#4 Well... there's little to argue about here because you have the whole premise wrong. I never mentioned Elder Scrolls anywhere on this forum nor any other. And yes, you do appear to be an irrational little brat. You've done little to dispel that appearance by misrepresenting what I've been posting about in these forums. Your entire post is filled with false accusations that you seem to actually believe are true. I guess I should add 'ignorant' to the tagline.

Go ahead, post some more nonsense about me, I'll let you have the last word, I promise.

Which your free to do, i for one am not continueing posting in a "dead end" like you. But somehow you are smarter than the rest of us by still posting in that dead end?

You called me out for telling people who are leaving to leave. Thats all I did. I said it is a win win for me not to put up with people who arent going to play it anyways. Only an idiot would still visit a forum of a game they don't want to play anymore. I also take the blame by reacting to your poor attempts to act better than thou, when we all see the emporer has no clothes.

I of course mentioned elder scrolls as an example of a game, I guess I should have mentioned the real game your leaving guild wars for ,Powder Puff Girls online super special ninja edition? ( I know I am feeding the trolls again ) <__< **looks for Gli to start crying and pointing fingers again**

actually you again are wrong, theres nothing to argue about, because this is a dead end game, and anyone with your vastly greater knowledge would not be here in the first place of a "dead end" street game. Yeah I mistated the game your leaving for, although you are off to check it out now so I guess I am a prophet? SO I missed on one thing and everything I stated was untrue?
I said you were still posting in the forum on a game you no longer had interest in. Whats untrue about that? You just got your feelings hurt I said guild wars would be a little more classy after your gone. That makes me a brat then. Lighten up get a life and post on a forum about a game you like and want to play.

Well I had to wait a few days for my copy to come in at EBGames, but it was no big deal. When choosing between Best Buy and EB Games, the choice is simple for me... who is going to take better care of you? The Best Buy store with 400 customers with money to burn, or the closet sized EB Games store where the manager will spend ten minutes explaining something to you about a game in the bargain rack? Yeah... sometimes I have to wait on EB Games, but I know if there's a problem, they will try to fix it.

Oh, and obviously... hell yeah I'm getting Factions. This might not make sense... Guild Wars isn't the best game out there, but sometimes it is.

When did I EVER encourage anyone to purchase and play Oblivion? please quote me if i did..

All i mentioned was where my money was going into, that's all. Don't make false assumptions, thanks.

Anyway, not buying Factions is a personal decision made by me as:

I feel that the gameplay is virtually identical to Prophecies.
All we do in PvE once we're lvl 20 is Buy FoW armor, Solo Farm builds, Run people etc etc... How many of you actually enjoyed doing sanctum cay or any of the missions more than 5 times?

I spend most of my time on GW in War camp, UW, FoW doing the same daily grind to pass time.

GW besides pvp is just an interective form of mIRC for me to chat with friends and Guildies.

PvP in HoH/HA is meaningless with all the IWAY and anti IWAY canned builds and rank emotes.

25 additional skills for existing characters is basically a mix of existing effects.

New classes are simply a mix and match of existing skills like " X removes
enchantments, Y has a speed buff"

Ridiculously unbalanced characters.. 55 iMonks anyone? Wow.. 6/10 monks have FoW..
Omg... my mesmer and ranger can't find a tombs or War camp group. lemme make a Stance Tank, SS necro, MM necro, Heal monk or Prot monk. woot.

All the weapons are basically the same junk. Green weaps have collector counterparts... we grind endlessly just to have an aesthetic/ a miniscule advantage over the others.

Speculation that extra storage space has to be won

Assassins look like Naruto ripoffs

Ritualists have a retarded attacking animation.

How long is Factions going to last with people running to and fro between mission towns?
I can get a pre sear character to Citidel and Fire Island Missions in 3 hours tops.

Factions makes you PvP using canned builds, just to unlock or capture Elite areas for canned 5 man farm groups...
sounds the same old boring War Camp grind to me.

With the amount spent on Factions, I can easily get single/multi player games like Battle for middle earth 2 or NWN 2, Bauldur's Gate 3 or Elder scrolls and enjoy diverse gameplay , all for no monthly charge as well.

AND finally only 2 character slots sealed the deal I mean.. WTF.. (refer to countless other posts by others.)

These are the reasons why i've decided NOT to buy factions.

I'm considering canceling my pre-ordered copy in the wake of learning how Factions works. PvE'ers are going to be put in a virtual waiting line to complete some quests and missions for end game as they wait for the PvP lines to be drawn each day. These lines or borders move as PvP wins and loses, therefore opening and closing content for the game world.
PvP gets to keep playing while PvE gets to sit and watch.
I'm of course refering to 100% PvP and PvE players, those that enjoy both will have a great time. My entire guild is 100% PvE though, and we all don't exactly find sitting around not doing anything fun. We also don't want to start PvPing as we have each tried it, and do not enjoy it.
So, it seems, Anets direction with the game does not match mine. So, I feel my $50 could go else where. No hard feelings though, just the way it is.

Last thought: FoW and UW were alright, but in Factions there should have been a balance to the game. PvE'ers are always waiting for HoH and the like. I would like to have seen balance where PvPers wait for PvEers to unlock areas for them... it's all about balance right?

PvE also factor’s in on control of a territory.
